1. What is IAG Chrome Care Kit?
IAG Chrome Care Kit contains a cleaning agent and a hybrid ceramic sealer; it is not a polish or wax. It is a protectorate.
2. What does a ceramic base sealer do?
It will impregnate into the pores of the product being treated, which will stop the process of oxidation immediately. A crisp, and clean appearance is the end result. Your product will continue to look like new without re-polishing.
3. What can I use IAG Chrome Care Kit on?
Aluminum, Raw Aluminum, Brass, Chromed Plating, Stainless Steel, Anodized Aluminum Parts, and Stainless Steel as long as the area is not in direct contact with excess heat, and Paint.
4. How long does IAG Chrome Care Kit last on my product?
Up to 2 years, with proper care and maintenance, depending upon the environment.
5. When it is time to re-apply, how and what are the steps?
You will need to re-condition your product if necessary and re-apply (you’ll need to re-order an IAG Chrome Care Kit Kit) using the same method as before. Just follow the Kit instructions and your product will continue to look like new.
6. Will IAG Chrome Care Kit rejuvenate or refurbish my product?
No, it will not. It will only protect from oxidation and dulling. You need to start with an already refurbished product.
7. Will it harm the painted finishes on my car?
No it will not. Simply wipe the IAG Chrome Care product that has got on the painted surface with a clean dry cloth.
8. Will IAG Chrome Care Kit provide protection against fresh water?
Yes, but not against underwater abrasions. Remember SALT is the enemy, SALT air, SALT roads anything that contains SALT is BAD for your CHROME!!!
9. What does salt water do to IAG Chrome Care Kit?
We recommend that you do not have your product immerged into salt water / salt road grime for a length of time
(Over 4 hours). If exposed to salt water (Road Salt) use soapy water and wash off the salt within a few
hours. The Salt could cause the metal to discolor and chrome will oxidize quickly.
10. Will IAG Chrome Care Kit protect against road salts?
IAG Chrome Care Kit was not made to withstand the abuse that road salts cause, road salts typically pit and are abrasive to the metal, so it will not hold up to abrasions caused by a rock chippage. If there is salt on the road it is on your Chrome! Wash it immediately in order to remove the corrosive elements. Protect it with our chrome care kit.
11. Do you make a smaller kit; I may not need that much.
The size of the kit is 4 oz. Of sealer, this covers about 75 sq. ft. The product itself is very expensive to make, so IAG Chrome Care Kit advises that you only mix the amount that you think you may need, tightly cap and store the reminder in a cool dark location until the next use. Note expiration date on box and use prior to this date.
12. What type of cleaners can be used on IAG Chrome Care Kit?
NO CAUSTIC OR ALKALINE CLEANERS. Only IAG Cleaner should be used on your chrome. And then only a wax containing carnauba wax like our Sealant should be used to maintain, do not use an aluminum polish until you are ready to re -apply the IAG Chrome Sealant. NEVER USE: Brillo pads, wire brushes or any other coarse instruments! Chrome is like your vehicles paint, treat it the same way!
13. How much IAG Chrome Care Kit do I need on the lint free towel during the application process?
Very little!!! The towel should be barely damp, NOT WET!
14. Can I use IAG Chrome Care Kit on a product that gets very hot?
Yes, you can use IAG Chrome Care Kit on a radiator. Heat from the radiator will help it to cure and make it stronger. Placing it on headers, valve covers and all other components are recommended, except for the exhaust. IAG Chrome Care Kit is heat safe up to 400 degrees F.
15. IAG Chrome Care Kit can be used on the following types of metals but the results will very as most of the metals have additives that will change the effect. In there pure form the results have been good but not as consistent as they are with aluminum.
• Can I use IAG Chrome Care Kit on Magnesium? NO.
• Can I use IAG Chrome Care Kit on CHROME, Black Chrome, Titanium Chrome, Twilight Chrome, Blue Steel, Copper or any other exotic finish that IAG offers? YES.
